Darnell Lee, CEO, W&T Travel Services

In 2006, Darnell Lee, a former metro bus operator, made a decision to leap out on faith and start his own business – W&T Travel Services, LLC. W&T was named after his parents William & Teola Lee because he wanted to honor them both in life and death.

Today, Mr. Lee is the CEO of W&T Travel Services, LLC with a staff of 63 and 56 vehicles including (shuttle buses, limos and sedans). He has successfully won contracts with the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) as a subcontractor, Virginia Department Emergency Management (VDEM), and the Management Support Technology, Inc. (MSTI). His most recent accomplishment was winning a five year Contract with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for $35M with an Option year 1 of $6.4M.

Mr. Lee continues to look for opportunities to grow his business and give back to the community. He has shared his story with many people who are currently attending the Christian Business Institute Program in hopes that one day they too will be as aggressive and persistent as he is in making their dream a reality.

While this walk is not easy and many doors will be closed in your face, Mr. Lee truly believes, "To much is given, much is required." He believes that your number one focus should be doing the business of the Lord and providing the upmost respect and integrity to your clients. He’s been inspirational in helping several transportation businesses get established within the Washington Metropolitan area.

Currently, Mr. Lee is expanding his business and teaming with other companies for new opportunities. As W&T grows, Mr. Lee is looking to take on more contracts with DoD, GSA, Disabled Vets, etc. and expand his fleet to service the needs of the client.

Mr. Lee contributes most of his success to his dedicated employees who continue to focus on building relationships and making sure customers are the #1 goal.
